Ensures the smooth and efficient operations of Inventory allocation and change management, by working with the Site Supervisors and team leaders to coordinate and verify allocation of material to the various boats required. Responsible for the effective and accurate allocation and stock holding of materials in the warehouse in accordance to standard operating procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, binning and cycle counts and stock takes.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Operational
* Daily allocation and monitoring of tasks and duties.
* Ensure all supplier deliveries are received, checked, processed and put away within agreed timelines.
* Notify appropriate departments when supplier non-conformance or shortage/overages are found, i.e. Buying, Procurement.
* Authorize productivity tracking standards/assessments, supplies, and equipment needs.
* Ensure all production returns are received, checked and put away within agreed timelines.
* Liaise with appropriate departments when non-conformance or poor-quality returns are received.
* Provide reports to Logistics Manager / Warehouse Manager as and when requested.
* Produce internal performance reporting in order that throughput, quality and trends can be monitored and assessed.
* Escalate issues to senior management within an appropriate time frame.
* To implement systems, control and to ensure stock accuracy towards boats.
* To ensure daily, weekly and monthly cycle done and reported on. Run and co-ordinate stock takes monthly and quarterly.
* To investigate and resolve stock discrepancies that might occur.
* To monitor the stock adjustments.
* To implement systems and processes for the effective pick and packing of Joinery parts.
* Plan, manage and maximizing all inventory functions and coordinates activities of, Receiving, Goods Return and Inventory.
* Control miss-ship and requisitions and locating missing product as needed.
* Ensure continuous review and improvements of operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Attend and participate in Green Area meetings
* Measurement of productivity indicates by DC (Unit/Hour) & demonstrated improvement.
* Brief staff daily, weekly and monthly on operational targets and achievements
* Culture, Communication and Collaboration – Arrange daily/weekly meetings with staff as appropriate to review overall team/individual performance.
* Assist with strategy for new warehouse ventures.
* Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to track success and/or recurring problems.
* Ensure compliance to all Health and Safety legislation / guidelines for self and staff at all times.
* Carry out internal health and safety audits as and when requested.
* Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum experience required: Matric / NGF Level 4 and 3 to 5 years related experience (preferably in a warehousing environment).
* Ideal: Diploma in warehousing, supply chain management or related Proven experience in inventory management with at least 3-5 years Inventory Management experience, stock control, or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* The ideal candidate must be proficient with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) and operational systems/software (Syspro).
* Be able to multi-task and perform excellent communication, supervisory and customer service skills
* Must be able to identify problems and resolve in a timely manner; possess a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks and resources appropriately.
