We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to work closely with our Asset Delivery, Transformation, and wider business teams. In this highly collaborative role, you will provide thoughtful financial guidance, build trusted relationships, and contribute to decision-making that supports our long-term goals and regulatory commitments.
You will play a central role in ensuring capital expenditure is accurately reported, budgets and forecasts are robust, and colleagues are supported in understanding and managing their financial responsibilities. As a connector between Finance and the rest of the business, your insight will help shape a shared financial understanding and drive consistent, informed decision-making.
What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders, building strong, supportive relationships across functions
* Champion clear and consistent financial communication to ensure project managers feel informed and confident
* Guide commercial discussions and help teams understand the value and outcomes of their work
* Strengthen front-end reporting tools and maintain a unified approach to capital reporting
* Work closely with colleagues to ensure month-end activities are completed accurately and on time
* Provide clear, constructive financial advice that supports well-rounded decision-making
* Collaborate with the FP&A Manager to model different business scenarios and assess risks and opportunities
* Play an active role in the annual budget and reforecasting cycles, ensuring teams feel engaged and informed
* Support the Regulatory Finance Manager in long-term planning, price reviews, and performance evaluations
What do you need?
Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
Essential:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), ideally with a background in practice or a commercially focused environment
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
* Strong track record in financial planning, reporting, and commercial analysis, particularly in the infrastructure, utilities, or transport sectors
* Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across a wide range of stakeholders
* Comfortable supporting others through change, offering reassurance, clarity, and direction
* Understanding of CAPEX processes and financial systems (ERP and reporting tools)
* Highly organised, adaptable, and able to balance priorities across multiple teams
* Passion for continuous improvement and encouraging others to embrace new ways of working
Desirable:
* Experience leading a finance business partnering function
* Background in capital investment programmes in regulated industries
* Insight into regulatory reporting and long-term planning cycles
