This post includes additional responsibility for Ysgol Gynradd Brynsaron (48 pupils), which is currently linked through an informal collaboration; from January 2026 the two schools will formally federate under a single governing body, following the consultation process concluded in the summer term 2025.

An allowance equivalent to 2 Leadership Points will be paid while the informal collaboration arrangements continue. From January 2026 onwards, the pay scale for the formal federation will be L12 – L18.

Required by January 2026 or as soon as possible.

Governors seek to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and committed practitioner to lead, challenge and continue to raise our aspirations and ensure excellent learning opportunities for all pupils.

We are looking for someone who has:

* A clear vision for educational excellence and a passion for improving pupils' achievements
* Ability to build on existing strengths of the school and embraces the exciting challenge to further develop the potential of pupils and staff;
* High expectations of pupils' progress, attainment and behaviour, whilst ensuring that pupils' interests and wellbeing are at the heart of all planning;
* A drive to maintain the rich and broad curriculum opportunities, whilst embracing the principles of the Curriculum for Wales to ensure highly relevant learning experiences for all pupils;
* Ensure equal opportunities, equity and excellence for all.
* The skills of an excellent communicator who can engage effectively with children, parents, staff and governors through the medium of both Welsh and English.
