Full-time- 35 hours per week
Fixed-Term- 2 years
The Opportunity:
To contribute to the programme of world-leading research in the Simons Initiative for the Developing brain, using whole cell patch clamp electrophysiological assessment of rat models of ASD/ID as well as in vivo expression of viral vectors to determine cell-type specific functional properties.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
The salary for this post is £40,247 to £47,874 per annum.
Your skills and attributes for success:
* A PhD in Neuroscience or related discipline
* Expertise in relevant approaches and models, analytical techniques and methods.
* Expertise in single-cell electrophysiology (whole-cell patch-clamp) in rodent brain slices
* Excellence performing and analysing in vitro and in vivo physiology experiments in rodents to investigate the cortex or hippocampus.
* Experience in performing intracranial stereotaxic injections in adolescent rats.
