Posted on behalf of an individual employer: We are looking for a small team of kind, patient, and proactive Personal Support Assistants to provide one-to-one care for a lady living with dementia in her own home. She is a lady with who loves animals, enjoys singing along to her favourite tunes, and finds peace in colouring and crosswords. Whether it’s watching a good show on TV or having a heartfelt chat about "the old days," we want to recruit a team who can truly connect with her and bring a sense of joy to her daily routine. Your Responsibilities This role focuses on maintaining a high quality of life through companionship and physical support: - Clear Communication: You must be able to communicate clearly, warmly, and patiently, helping the client feel understood and secure even when she is confused. - Personal Care: Assisting with washing, dressing, and hygiene with the utmost dignity. - Shared Hobbies: Spending time together colouring, solving crosswords, or singing. Companionship: Being a "memory partner"—listening to stories about the past and engaging in meaningful conversation. - Daily Living: Preparing light meals, medication reminders, and ensuring a safe, comfortable home environment. About You - Excellent Communicator: You have a clear speaking voice and the ability to adapt your communication style to the needs of someone with dementia. - Patient & Calm: You understand that dementia requires a slow, steady pace and a reassuring presence. - Creative & Fun: You’re happy to burst into song or sit down for a colouring session to keep her mind active and happy. - Animal Lover: Since she loves animals, a natural affinity for pets is a huge plus!
