The Opportunity This is a field based Technical Sales Engineer position focused on complex, engineered applications across industries such as nuclear, power generation, renewables, oil and gas, chemicals and other process-led environments. This role would suit an ambitious engineer currently working in an internal sales, applications or technical support role who is ready to step up into a more strategic, customer facing field sales position. It offers genuine progression into a consultative, solutions driven engineering sales career within a structured global organisation. Key Responsibilities * Manage and grow a portfolio of existing key accounts, nurturing long term strategic relationships * Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities across target sectors * Deliver consultative, value-based technical sales across complex fluid system applications * Conduct regular customer site visits, technical reviews and solution presentations * Work closely with engineering and application teams to deliver tailored, custom engineered solutions * Leverage the company’s unrivalled product portfolio and global technical capabilities to maximise account penetration * Collaborate with international colleagues to support UK based customers with global footprints * Attend and represent the business at industry exhibitions, technical seminars and networking events * Use CRM systems to manage pipeline activity, forecast accurately and track opportunity progression * Prepare technical proposals, quotations and commercial offers * Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies within target industries * Drive revenue growth through cross selling, up selling and project based business development Requirements * HNC, HND or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (essential) * Experience in an Internal Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer or Technical Sales role * Strong understanding of mechanical principles, fluid systems or process equipment * Exposure to sectors such as nuclear, power, renewables, oil and gas, chemicals or other heavy/process industries * Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings * Commercial awareness with a proactive, results driven mindset * Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills * Experience using CRM systems for pipeline management and forecasting * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Desirable • Experience selling high integrity, engineered components or systems • Knowledge of regulated or safety critical environments • Exposure to project based or solution based sales What’s on Offer • Opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering leader • Structured career development and clear progression pathways • Access to industry leading technical training and product development • A role that blends technical depth with strategic, consultative sales This is a rare opportunity to join a premium engineering manufacturer where your technical expertise will be valued and developed, and where you can transition into a high impact, strategic field sales role within a global organisation.
