Higher Level Teaching Assistant Location - Fareham Contract - Part Time and Full Time Start date – January 2026 This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join one of our welcoming and inclusive primary schools in the Fareham area. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education and help pupils achieve their full potential. About You Hold HLTA status or an equivalent qualification, with experience working in a primary school setting. Confident in leading whole-class learning, as well as supporting individuals and small groups. Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to adapt learning to meet a range of needs. Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills. A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils’ academic and emotional development. The ability to use your initiative, manage your time effectively, and contribute positively to the wider school community. Your Key Responsibilities Deliver planned lessons and learning activities under the direction of teaching staff. Lead intervention groups and provide targeted support to help pupils reach their learning goals. Supervise and manage whole classes during teacher absence or PPA time. Support teachers in preparing and adapting classroom resources. Monitor pupil progress, provide feedback, and contribute to assessment and planning. Promote positive behaviour and inclusion, helping to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure consistency and success for all learners.
