What's your mission? As an IT Apprentice, you will gain a full understanding of the service desk side of the business, providing first line help desk solutions to our customers. Reporting to the Service Desk Team Leader, you will work toward a recognised L3 Information Communication qualification (20% of your working hours will be dedicated to your studies), which, alongside your practical work experience, will help you put your learning into practice. This apprenticeship duration is approximately 12-18 months. This position requires zero experience, and we are happy to consider all applicants whether you're a school leaver or looking for a fresh start to develop a new career path. What is vital is your passion for supporting your colleagues and our customers, and an enthusiasm and professional approach to work. Who will you be working with? You will be joining a well-established business in Carlisle and will be supporting colleagues and customers in Carlisle and surrounding areas. You will also support our Preston and Bournemouth offices using our remote support tools. Working within a small support team, and senior IT Support Engineers, you will liaise with our colleagues, as well as with our customers and suppliers and therefore you will be confident at communicating. Our business is growing rapidly and 2023 will be very busy. There has never been a better time to join us! I can guarantee that no one day will be the same, some of the activities you will be involved in are outlined below: Responding to inbound calls from our customers Resolving IT Support Queries Managing basic faults and requests Logging into customers' systems remotely via our remote support software to fix possible issues Ensuring customer records are accurately updated Attending site visits for maintenance services with another experienced engineer What do you need? To apply for this apprenticeship, you will need to have the following characteristics: A genuine interest in developing a career in IT Strong verbal and written communication skills The ability to work as part of a team The ability to work accurately, with good attention to detail Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Minimum of 5 GCSE's at grade A* - C / 9-4(or equivalent) including English and Maths and ideally Science. A previous qualification in IT based subject will be advantageous Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
