Junior Civil Engineer Job Overview
Prepare Flood Risk Assessments to support planning applications
Produce drainage strategies and surface water management plans in line with UK SuDS
Work on a broad range of projects from single residential extensions to large housing schemes of up to 400 units
Assess planning requirements and propose appropriate mitigation measures
Support residential and commercial developments including conversions and padel court schemes
Use Causeway software for drainage and flood risk assessments
Work closely with senior engineers and the Director, receiving structured training and technical support
Operate in a fully remote, flexible working environment with no timesheets or set hours.
Job Title Job Requirements
Minimum of 6 months post-university relevant experience within civil engineering, drainage, flood risk or hydrology
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
Some experience or exposure to Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies or surface water management
Basic understanding of UK SuDS and planning requirements
Experience using drainage or flood risk software such as Causeway beneficial (not a must)
Strong written communication skills for producing technical reports
Willingness to learn and develop within a specialist planning-led environment
Comfortable working remotely with good time management and self-organisation skills
Comfortable commuting to Cheshire office when required, mostly monthly.
