Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with a number of high performing and well established secondary schools across the Wirral and Chester to recruit passionate, dedicated, and skilled Secondary School Teachers. We are supporting schools with a range of permanent and long term vacancies, offering excellent opportunities for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners.

Your new role

As a Secondary School Teacher, you will deliver high quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where required. You will play a vital role in promoting a positive learning culture, supporting student progress, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Working with forward thinking schools known for strong leadership and amitment to student success, these roles offer the chance to thrive in supportive environments that value continuous professional development and high standards of teaching and learning.

Responsibilities will include:
1. Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that meet national curriculum expectations
2. Differentiate teaching to support students of varying abilities and learning needs
3. Track, assess, and record student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
4. Maintain a well‑managed, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
5. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency of high‑quality teaching and curriculum delivery
6. Support students with exam preparation and coursework where applicable
7. Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and wider whole‑school initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Have experience teaching secondary aged students in the UK (all subjects weed)
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and effectivemunication
• Bring recent, relevant UK school-based experience
• Show professionalism, adaptability, and amitment to raising standards
• Be dedicated to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service—or be willing to apply for one
