Looking for a new opportunity? Following recent improvement work within our pharmacy services, we have identified the need for additional capacity in our Pharmacy Dispensary. We are now seeking to recruit two enthusiastic and reliable Pharmacy Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team.
About the Role
The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering the best practice across a wide variety of specialist services. Our team consists of pharmacy technicians, trainee pharmacy technicians, and PSWs, all working together to ensure the safe provision of medicines across the site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medicines under supervision of registered pharmacy staff at RIE and Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Clinic.
2. Maintain accurate records and comply with legal and organisational standards.
3. Support stock management, including ordering, receiving, and storing medicines.
4. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.

8. Previous experience in healthcare or pharmacy is essential full training provided.

About you
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
12. National 4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and a Science (Biology or Chemistry)
13. Must be educated to SCQF Level 6 with relevant work experience in a healthcare or pharmacy environment.
14. A diligent, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
15. Prior experience within pharmacy services.
16. The completion of an in-house competency-based Group Award accredited via Edinburgh College within 12 months of commencing the post will also be required as well as the completion of in-house training programmes to demonstrate competency.
