Join our dedicated pharmacy team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and play a vital role in supporting the safe provision of medicines within a hospital environment.

About the Role

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering the best practice across a wide variety of specialist services.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Pharmacy Support Worker (PSW) to join our well-established pharmacy team. Our team consists of pharmacy technicians, trainee pharmacy technicians, and PSWs, all working together to ensure the safe provision of medicines across the site.

This role will have opportunities to work within a variety of different technical areas. Your role will include assisting in the preparation and distribution of medicines and stock management. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you develop the necessary skills.

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Support Worker with a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

4. National 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
5. A willingness to complete an SCQF Level 6 unit as part of your development.
6. A diligent, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
7. Prior experience within pharmacy services or stock management (beneficial but not essential).
8. Completion of Healthcare Support Workers induction standards within 12 months following probationary period

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
