Overview
Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking a suitably qualified / experienced paediatric dietitian to take on this Band 7 role, leading the paediatric dietetic service at Wye Valley NHS Trust. This position is advertised as 30 hours but flexible working can be considered.
Responsibilities
* Lead on service development in the paediatric dietetic service, working closely with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
* Carry an outpatient caseload including HEF, 1:1 clinic appointments and providing group education as required.
* Provide dietetic support to the children’s ward at Hereford County Hospital.
* Provide supervision and guidance to the Band 6 paediatric dietitian.
* Support the wider dietetic service by supervising junior staff and students.

Qualifications
* Essential Education & Qualifications: BSc/MSc/PGDip in Nutrition and Dietetics & Current HCPC registration
* Essential Postgraduate award in Dietetics (e.g., Paediatric Course MSc module)
* Desirable BDA Member
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Broad up-to-date knowledge and practical application of paediatric dietetics
* Ability to communicate with clients using dietary counselling, motivational and negotiation skills
* Flexibility in working hours and location
* Ability to lead projects involving other dietetic department/MDT members
* Capability to plan and prioritise own caseload with time management skills
* Presentation and teaching skills
* Able to appraise own performance and that of others
* Interest in training student dietitians
Experience
* Essential Proven experience working as a Dietitian
* Experience with paediatric patients with a range of conditions
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working
Desirable
* Experience of developing policies/procedures in Paediatric Dietetics
