Job Overview
The Research & Development Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the outputs of the process and applications laboratory, leading technical process development, and driving innovation in plant-based protein solutions. This position entails overseeing research and development initiatives, ensuring our products meet the highest quality and performance standards, all while fostering a collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities
* Lead the daily operations of the process and applications laboratory.
* Coordinate technical development projects related to plant-based proteins.
* Develop and optimise processes for protein extraction and formulation.
* Collaborate with product development teams to create innovative applications of our proteins in food and beverage products.
* Conduct studies on sensory evaluation, nutritional analysis, and product performance.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
* Prepare and present technical reports and findings to stakeholders.
* Supervise, mentor, and train laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Stay updated on industry trends, scientific advancements, and competitive landscapes in plant-based nutrition.

* Strong leadership ability in managing NPD projects with production teams.

Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
* 5-8 years of experience in a technical development laboratory, ideally with proteins or plant-based nutritional ingredients.
* In-depth knowledge of food processing, sensory evaluation, and nutrition.
* Familiarity with relevant food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
* Practical experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
