EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery: Daily supervision of a team of paint shop operatives, providing guidance on all operations (blasting, prepping, painting, repairs, etc.). Coaching and mentoring staff to develop skills. Estimating painting times, staffing, and costs to maximize efficiency. Developing and improving manufacturing methods considering health, safety, and quality standards. Planning workspace utilization. Conducting quality checks before and after jobs. Ensuring minimal re-work. Servicing the Fitting Shop and meeting production targets. Reporting progress to the Production Manager. Liaising with management on capabilities and schedules. Monitoring performance to improve efficiencies. Streamlining purchasing to reduce costs.
2. Performance Improvement: Applying the company's performance management system. Supporting staff in setting KPIs. Maintaining high personal and team performance standards. Recognizing good performance and addressing poor performance effectively.
3. Financial and Resource Management: Ensuring the Paint Shop operates efficiently and within financial targets. Seeking innovative solutions for service improvements.
4. People Management: Providing leadership to ensure high-quality service. Promoting teamworking and continuous improvement.
5. General Management: Promoting equality, diversity, and health & safety compliance. Reviewing staff performance regularly. Participating in staff recruitment and disciplinary actions. Upholding company values and legal health & safety duties. Performing other duties as required.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria: Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience. On-the-job painting experience with heavy machinery. Management/Leadership qualification preferred. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills. Ability to work flexible hours.
