Overview

We are looking for case managers to join our Co-op Legal Services probate team. You don't need a legal background for this role, as we provide full training. The role counts as qualified work experience for the SQE route, and we offer internal career progression opportunities within our growing business.


Base pay range

Legal Case Manager
From £26,000 plus a performance-based incentive scheme after probation, with excellent benefits and progression opportunities (Work Level 6B).
Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours.
Locations: Manchester, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Bristol. You will complete a 6-month training at one of our offices, then you6ll have the option to work in a hybrid way.


What this role offers

We are building a probate team within Co-op Legal Services. You will guide customers through the legal and administrative steps following bereavement, managing each case from start to finish with care and clarity. You will stay in regular contact, discuss estate details empathetically, and help make a difficult time easier. This role provides an opportunity to build a rewarding legal career with us.


What you9ll do

* Take ownership of your own caseload and deliver on targets that drive the best outcomes for our customers
* Be supported by the latest technologies, including AI, to assist in file management
* Work closely with customers (via phone or written communication) with empathy
* Use a case management system to keep work accurate and up to date
* Engage with third parties, financial institutions, and government bodies
* Prepare forms and documents to keep cases moving and track financial transactions


Qualifications and qualities

* Background in law, recruitment, insurance, finance, or end-to-end case/claims management
* IT proficiency and the ability to learn new systems quickly
* Excellent customer service and a customer-first approach
* Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
* Verbal and written communication skills with confidence to speak to clients
* Keen eye for detail and accuracy
* Emotional resilience and professionalism in difficult situations
