Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Overview
We are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead the construction of a new £50 million school development in Essex for a top 3 UK tier 1 contractor. From pre-construction through to handover, you will drive performance across programme, budget, quality, and safety, while managing diverse internal and external teams. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead a landmark educational project with a national contractor.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all phases of the school project, from tender through to completion.
* Manage programmes, budgets, risks, and quality targets under NEC/JCT contracts.
* Act as the client’s primary contact, building trust and maintaining strong relationships.
* Select, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver against key project milestones.
* Oversee stakeholder coordination, including local authorities, consultants, and supply chain.
* Drive safety culture on site in line with SHE policies.
* Produce accurate and timely reporting for internal and client stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience managing £30m+ construction projects, ideally education or public sector.
* Strong leadership and communication across site and client teams.
* Excellent commercial acumen with programme and cost control experience.
* Confident working with NEC and JCT contracts.
* Proficient in ASTA Powerproject or MS Project, and MS Office Suite.
Qualifications
* Degree in Construction Management (or equivalent).
* SMSTS (5-day), Black CSCS card, First Aid certification.
* Full UK driving licence.
* (Desirable) Chartered membership (e.g., CIOB, ICE).
