About the Role
We are looking to further develop and expand our vocational curriculum offer for the coming academic year, from September 2026, we are looking for a variable hours tutor in early years. The college provides a number of qualification courses across these subject areas which enable learners to progress to employment or further study. We are proud of our strong track record of supporting adults working towards employment in early years, education and social care settings.
Hours are variable and cover daytimes, evenings and weekends. Variable Hours Tutors work closely with Programme Managers in the designing, planning and delivering of courses which stretch and challenge our learners, as well as preparing a variety of learning materials, providing guidance to learners on progression options, attending termly meetings and completing course administration.
About You
You will be experienced in delivering engaging learning sessions for a range of learner groups, ensuring high levels of learner satisfaction with the College. You will also work with the Programme Manager of the area to develop courses to increase learner numbers and attract new learner groups.
You will be confident in undertaking assessment of learner work, providing information and advice to learners, preparing learning materials and assignments and all aspects of the administration of qualification courses. When assessing in the workplace, you will be responsible for liaising with placement supervisors to ensure monitoring and recording of learner progress.
You will have English and maths minimum Level 2 qualifications, a teaching qualification (level 4 or above) and an appropriate assessor award. Your industry experience in your specialist area should enable you to teach and assess candidates up to level 3 in your area of occupational competence.
