We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Band 7
Deputy Central Specimen Reception & Logistics Manager to join our cross-site
team within the East and South East London Pathology Partnership (ESEL PP). This
is a full time permanent position (37.5 hours per week).
This critical operational role will support the delivery of a safe, high-quality 24/7
Central Specimen Reception & Logistics service across all Partnership sites.
You will support the CSR & Logistics Manager in leading multi-site teams including
CSR service delivery managers, supervisors, and logistics staff.
The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to participate in a rotational
shift system including early, late, weekend, bank holiday, and occasional night
shifts to ensure a visible presence and meet service needs.

Cross site working will be required and the successful applicant may be required to
work at any of our NHS Pathology Partnership sites.
The laboratories are UKAS and HCPC accredited. Our commitment to supporting

Main duties of the job –
The duties will provide day to day operational leadership for CSR & Logistics across
multiple hospital sites. This will include direct line management of service delivery
managers, logistics supervisors and reception staff ensuring high quality
performance and compliance with SOPs and Trust Policies.
We are seeking an individual that will be liaising with laboratory teams, clinical
services, courier providers and Trust stakeholders to support efficient patient
pathways.
The successful candidate will support staff development through training,
appraisals, rota coordination and recruitment as well as contribute to strategic
improvement initiatives.
Working for our organisation
The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership is an arms-length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The Pathology Partnership is hosted by Barts Health.
The Pathology Partnership was formed in May 2021. Between 2021 and 2024 the Partnership undertook a complex transformation programme to establish a single network of laboratories, underpinned by a single Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and single Quality Management System (QMS).
The Partnership has a main hub laboratory at the Royal London Hospital and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) as a minimum at the six other hospital sites served by the Partnership.
The Partnership has three operational divisions:
· Blood Sciences including Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry
· Microbiology and Virology
· Cellular Pathology and Cancer Diagnostics
The 2024/25 total operating costs across the Partnership were c. £121m per annum with a workforce establishment of circa. 860 WTE.
