SEN Teacher (PMLD/Complex Needs)
Mile End, East London
£200–£240 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start date: ASAP / October HT 2025
We are supporting a highly regarded specialist school in East London, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, that provides exceptional education and care for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical needs. The school offers a calm, creative, and truly inclusive environment where every learner is celebrated and supported to reach their fullest potential.
The Role
This is a full-time teaching position within a specialist class for pupils with PMLD and complex needs. The successful teacher will:
Plan and deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons that promote communication, physical development, and independence.
Work closely with a highly skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and medical staff to meet each pupil’s holistic needs.
Use a range of communication approaches such as sensory stories, intensive interaction, and symbol-supported communication.
Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to progress at their own pace.
What We’re Looking For
A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) with a genuine passion for SEN.
Experience in SEN, Autism or PMLD in particular is desirable, but applications are also welcome from teachers with a strong mainstream background who are committed to developing their SEN practice.
Creativity, patience, and a positive approach to teaching and learning.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
