Overview
Reporting to your Regional Manager you will lead by example creating an excellent culture and working environment for your team, demonstrating our values of being: Genuine, Wise, Eager, Focused, Together. You will have full responsibility for all aspects of running a successful store. Managing KPIs around people, store standards, customer service standards and financial performance, maximising both turnover and gross margin along with control of costs. Ensure you and your team are delivering the highest standards of pet care and ensure that the welfare of pets is a top priority, promoting responsible pet ownership. Exceptional customer service by providing a great shopping experience for customers and displaying both strong pet and product knowledge.
Responsibilities
* Manage daily store operations with a hands‑on approach to drive short, medium and long‑term business success.
* Lead, recruit, motivate, train and develop your team; review and manage performance; promote Jollyes as an employer of choice locally.
* Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure clear communication of key updates and individual/team objectives.
* Achieve KPIs related to people, store standards, customer service standards and financial performance; maximise turnover and gross margin while controlling costs.
* Ensure high standards of health, safety and legal compliance; promote welfare of pets and responsible pet ownership.
* Support store organisation including stock management and store standards; may involve out‑of‑hours work and cover at other stores in the region.
Qualifications & Requirements
* A passion for pets and people; ability to delight customers with an unrivalled shopping experience.
* Previous retail store management experience with a hands‑on approach to daily operations and activity planning for short/medium/long term success.
* Strong decision making and communication skills; ability to build high‑performing, engaged teams and succession plans for future leaders.
* Proven track record in developing business performance and achieving KPIs; high standards of store standards including health & safety and legal compliance.
* Commercial awareness; ability to manage P&L and take a proactive approach.
* Own transport with a UK driving licence (occasional travel to other stores in the region).
* Full‑time, permanent position – 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.
Salary & Benefits
* Retail Store Manager – Jollyes Pets – Nuneaton. Salary £27,000 – £30,500 p.a. + bonus potential of £2k–£10k p.a.
* Posting details: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7; travel to store locations as needed.
