Salary is dependent on experience. We run a fair tronc system that shares service charge and tips across the whole team, adding around £2,500 a year to your earnings.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. Responsibilities
* Assist the team with daily kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and consistently high food quality.
* Supervise, mentor, and support kitchen staff—including chefs and junior team members—while fostering a positive and productive working environment.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu specifications, ensuring consistency, presentation, and attention to detail.
* Oversee food production processes with a focus on efficiency, safety, and compliance with health and hygiene regulations.
* Manage inventory levels, place supply orders when necessary, and minimise waste through effective stock control.
* Ensure strict adherence to all food safety protocols, including safe storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
* Support the training and development of new team members in culinary techniques and company procedures.
* Collaborate closely with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless and coordinated service delivery.
Qualifications
* Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
* Extensive food preparation and cooking expertise across a range of cuisines.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide and manage a team effectively.
* Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings.
* Previous experience in a restaurant environment demonstrating proficiency in food production and service standards.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
* Knowledge of broader hospitality operations, including serving procedures, is advantageous.
