Morson Talent is currently recruiting for an Aircraft Mechanical Technician for our prestigious client based at RAF Coningsby.
Salary: GBP22.57ph PAYE / GBP30.24ph umbrella
Role Overview
The post holder will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking detailed maintenance activities on aircraft or aircraft components. This role requires a good understanding of approved Technical Information and the ability to work independently following approved data and maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation's Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE). The technician will analyze and diagnose faults, work within a team, and guide less experienced team members in a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Performance Indicators: Ensure effective Part 145 activities, meet delivery targets, and report impacts on Continuing Airworthiness. Understand how individual actions impact overall performance.
2. Completion of Activities: Document all Part 145 activities properly, maintain airworthiness records, compile reports, and escalate issues as needed.
3. Procedures/Standards: Comply with Part 145 Exposition and related procedures, propose changes when necessary.
4. Safety Management System: Apply Human Factors and Error Management philosophies, understand risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
5. Management System Assurance: Ensure compliance with AM&S Governance, support audits, respond to findings, and implement improvements.
6. Regulatory & Legislative Requirements: Demonstrate understanding of Continuing Airworthiness regulations and support regulatory changes.
7. Contractual Requirements: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, support contract reviews, and incorporate required changes.
8. Maintenance & Diagnostic Activities: Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, and tests on aircraft and components. Analyze operational performance and suggest improvements.
9. Additional Tasks: Support tasks within the maintenance facility, maintain personal competencies, and undertake on-the-job training activities.
10. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, ideally with an Engineering Apprenticeship or Military equivalent. Typically 3+ years of experience, fully competent with required authorities, and experience with aircraft systems documented in a Log Book.
The successful candidate must demonstrate broad technical knowledge, understanding of team integration, and commitment to continuous improvement. Compliance with SHE policies and risk assessments is mandatory. Support for ongoing training and maintaining currency on aircraft systems is required.
