Who?
There is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Housing Options Support Officer. We’re seeking candidates who possess excellent customer service skills and experience of working within a Local Government and/or Finance environment would be an advantage.
What will you be doing?
1. You will be an essential ‘first point of contact’ into the Housing Options teams, administer financial payments relating to the service area, deal with basic housing advice queries and provide administrative support to the Housing Options, Allocations, and Support & Sustainment teams.
2. You will triage applications for housing assistance under Part 6 and Part 7 Housing Act 1996, referring to and booking appointments with the appropriate officer, assist with administrative duties across the service including processing of invoices and financial reconciliation and temporary accommodation administration.
What do you need?
3. The ability to interpret customer needs and provide solutions.
4. GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Maths, or have an NVQ Level 2 Administration qualification (or equivalent).
5. Good written and verbal communication skills and an excellent telephone manner.
6. Experience of using computer systems and dealing with customers in a front line social housing environment.
7. Direct experience of working in a local authority homelessness or allocations team would be an advantage.
