Are you a retrofit professional with a passion for sustainability and community impact? Join Bath & West Community Energy (BWCE) as our Home Energy Team Leader and help local residents make their homes more energy efficient, comfortable, and low carbon.
About Us
We’re a not-for-profit community business powering the energy transition across Bath & North East Somerset. Since 2010, our solar projects have generated enough electricity to power 5,000+ homes—and we’ve reinvested over £430,000 into local climate and fuel poverty projects.
Our Home Energy Service, launched in 2024, offers paid assessments and practical advice, helping households cut carbon and costs. With growing demand and new services launching in 2025, we’re expanding our team.
The Role
As Team Leader, you’ll manage and develop a team of energy assessors and retrofit professionals delivering surveys, retrofit coordination, and post-assessment support. You’ll oversee service quality, customer care, and partnerships—while helping shape the future of home energy in our community.
Key responsibilities include:
· Leading and supporting a team of staff and freelancers
· Conducting and quality-assuring home energy and retrofit assessments
· Managing retrofit coordination services and external partners
· Tracking impact, outcomes, and customer experience
· Contributing to service development and innovation
Some evening and weekend work will be required for events and delivery.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
· PAS2035 Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator (or equivalent)
· Strong experience in retrofit assessment, building physics, and energy modelling (e.g., SAP, PHPP, rdSAP)
· Confident team leader and excellent communicator
· Strong organisational and customer service skills
· Skilled at translating technical info into plain English
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and tech-friendly
Desirable:
· Degree or qualification in the built environment (e.g., surveying, architecture, engineering)
