Position Overview: As a Preventative Maintenance Engineer, you will work with the controller to maximize equipment availability through routine and preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs. You will promote safety by servicing products in a manner that ensures safety for yourself and the customer.
Major Job Functions:
* Preventative Maintenance Servicing: routine servicing and oil sampling (75%)
* Machine Inspection: visual and mechanical analysis of machine condition (20%)
* Minor Repairs: minor repairs, telematic systems installation, undercarriage inspections (5%)

*This is a field-based role. A full driving license held for at least 2 years is required.*
Working hours are 43 hours/week with flexible start/end times, Monday to Friday, with one Saturday in three at overtime rate.
Specific Skills:
Basic knowledge of Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electronics/Electrics related to heavy mobile plant servicing and repair.
Accountability:
Attend customer sites, perform preventive maintenance, liaise with the service controller and customer, ensure high standards and safety, complete paperwork accurately, and maintain company vehicle and equipment.
Education and Experience:
Approximately 3 years of relevant experience or related engineering work (e.g., mechanic, HGV fitter, military vehicle technician), or formal apprenticeship with at least C&G Level 1. Additional health & safety training is desirable but not essential.
