The role holder will work across a variety AJG geographies, functions, legal entities and Business Units. The role holder will lead multiple activities which will require resources from permanent staff, contractors and consultants. The role holder will expect to manage and own relationships at the most senior levels, and to be able to confidently represent GTS in a variety of forums and to role model appropriate behaviours. The role holder will be expected to represent both IT and Business Change at the BU Operations Committee and other Functional and Legal Entity senior management meeting both in terms of portfolio delivery and service provision.
Strategy & Planning
1. Act as the primary interface with Business Units / Functions / Legal Entities.
2. Represent GTS and IT as a standing member of the assigned business area senior management forums to develop insight and contribute to business strategy and priorities.
3. Regular reviews of portfolio to ensure alignment to strategy, targets and business plan.
4. Escalation point for service in respect of GTS, Business Change and IT.
5. To develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and service providers, both internal and external.
6. Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulation, good governance and Gallagher's shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.
7. To ensure a smooth and timely transition of projects into delivery phase such that projects and programmes are able to mobilise to agreed portfolio delivery plan.
8. Contribute to target setting for resources within the Practices assigned to supporting the shaping activity and provide objective reviews of performance.
9. Develop and support all levels and members of the GTS Global team.
10. Collaboration with GTS, IT and Business Change management team to support an optimum balance of supply versus demand across all portfolios.

PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications
18. Professionally qualified in IT management or with equivalent industry experience.
Significant commercial experience and/or relevant level qualification in vendor management/supply chain management.
Technical Knowledge
19. Knowledge of ITIL and other industry wide initiatives that promote quality and process improvement.
Proven skills in aligning IT with organisational drivers.
20. Industry awareness to identify improvement opportunities and implement them across the services and processes incorporated within the domain.
Previous experience in a senior technical leadership position, including shaping of, and delivery against, a strategic plan.
Direct experience of IT budgetary and financial management.
