Kinara Group are partnering with an established and growing organisation in the clinical diagnostics space, supporting laboratories across the UK with a strong portfolio spanning microbiology, virology, and molecular testing.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Field Applications Specialist to support customers across instrument installation, assay implementation, and ongoing technical training
The Opportunity
This is a field-based, customer-facing role working closely with NHS and private laboratories, supporting the adoption and effective use of diagnostic solutions across infectious disease testing.
You’ll play a key role across the full customer journey — from pre-installation and validation through to training, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver on-site installation, validation, and training of diagnostic platforms and assays
* Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting across microbiology and molecular workflows
* Support the commercial team with pre-sales demos, evaluations, and technical discussions
* Build strong relationships with:
* Biomedical Scientists
* Clinical Scientists
* Laboratory Managers
* Ensure customers are fully trained and confident across workflows and systems
* Act as a technical expert for microbiology / virology / molecular diagnostic solutions
Your Background
* Experience within clinical diagnostics or laboratory environments
* Strong background in one or more of:
* Microbiology
* Virology
* Molecular diagnostics (PCR, qPCR, etc.)
* Likely coming from:
* Biomedical Scientist (BMS)
* Field Applications Specialist
* Laboratory-based technical role
* Confident working directly with end users and delivering training
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
