Role Overview
Are you an ambitious Project Manager eager to take on complex and exciting capital projects? This role offers an outstanding opportunity to lead vital upcoming projects with budgets up to £100 million each across our diverse estate, from original accommodation and facilities to new campus upgrades.
Responsibilities
1. You’ll contribute to the university’s £1.2 billion capital programme over the next 15 years, potentially leading projects in accommodation, laboratories, faculty buildings, and restaurants.
2. Take ownership from inception to occupation, managing multiple complex projects within a diverse estate environment.
3. Coordinate with clients, manage assessments, design, contracts, contractors, procurement, and project handovers.
4. Develop and lead cohesive project teams, ensuring alignment and high standards through quality assurance and risk management.
5. Monitor project performance, implement solutions, and manage legal and practical aspects of NEC and JCT contracts.
Candidate Profile
* Proven success in delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously.
* Deep understanding of NEC and JCT contracts.
* Experience in procurement, contracting, and managing teams internally and externally.
* Success in leading external consultants and contractors to achieve project goals.
Chartered Surveyor status is desirable; support for achieving this qualification is available.
Additional Information
This role is based in the Department of Campus Infrastructure, supporting planning, development, and management of university lands and buildings. The team ensures the installation, maintenance, and repair of campus facilities.
