Event Security Officer
Permanent | Location: London
Hours: Zero hours – varied shift patterns
Pay: £13.85 per hour
Responsibilities
* To carry out duties across the Museum's site and buildings as per post/patrol instructions, SOPs and AIs and/or as directed by Security Supervisors/Managers.
* To play an integral role in any emergency including fire evacuation, terrorist incident, dealing with unsocial behaviour, first aid incidents etc.
* Remain alert and vigilant to activity on the site taking prompt action and early reporting to Supervisor/Manager of anything of concern to help minimise risk and better ensure that all people, museum collections and assets remain safe and secure.
* To provide a visible preventative security presence at posts and through patrolling ‘Front of House', galleries, foyers, and perimeter areas including ‘bag search' when initiated, and ‘Back of House' collections facilities, libraries and other museum areas.
* To prevent loss, damage and theft to museum collections and other museum assets (including retail stock) by carrying out security duties.
* To investigate matters of concern reported by the control room including alarm activations.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Deliver excellent customer service
* Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
* Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
* Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
* Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability
* SIA – DS licence
