Ready to Redefine What It Means to Be a TA?
Join Us as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Daventry Secondary School
Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time | Term-Time Only | Permanent
Salary: £25,000–£28,000 FTE (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
This isn’t your standard classroom support role.
This is for the trailblazers. The problem-solvers. The ones who know how to ignite a spark in young minds and keep it burning.
We’re a bold and ambitious secondary school in Daventry, and we’re looking for an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team — not just to support learning, but to lead it.
What makes this role different?
You won’t be stuck photocopying worksheets or patrolling the back row. You’ll be:
✅ Leading engaging small group interventions and subject-specific lessons
✅ Working closely with teachers to shape planning and feedback
✅ Mentoring students and modelling best learning behaviours
✅ Innovating with tech, creativity, and fresh ideas
✅ Supporting across departments – English one day, Drama the next
This is a role with autonomy, responsibility, and room to grow. You’ll be part of a school that’s thriving – where staff development is non-negotiable, and every adult is treated like a leader.
Who are we looking for?
You might already be an HLTA, or you might be a Teaching Assistant ready to step up. Either way, we’re looking for someone who:
* Thinks like a teacher and acts like a coach
* Believes in young people, even when they don’t believe in themselves
* Can manage a classroom, lead learning, and make students feel seen
* Has energy, humour, humility – and high standards
A relevant HLTA qualification or willingness to complete one is essential.
What we offer:
* An inclusive and forward-thinking staff culture
* High-quality CPD tailored to your development
* The opportunity to lead, innovate and influence change
* A genuinely supportive SLT who value wellbeing and initiative
* A team that works hard, laughs often, and cares deeply
