Job Title: Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with a passion for child and adolescent mental health to make a significant impact in the lives of young individuals and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents in line with best practices and current clinical guidelines.
* Conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions for a wide range of mental health disorders.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and educational professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
* Engage in therapeutic sessions, family therapy, and crisis intervention as needed.
* Participate in the on-call rota and provide emergency psychiatric evaluations when required.
* Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
* Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and trainees, contributing to their professional development.
* Stay abreast of advancements in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and apply new knowledge to clinical practice.
* Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects within the organization.
Essential Qualifications:
* Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practice.
* Recognised medical degree (e.g., MBBS, MBChB) from a GMC-approved institution.
* Completion of Core Psychiatry Training (CT1–CT3) and Higher Specialist Training (ST4–ST6), leading to a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
* Experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) particularly in forensic and/or eating disorders.
Desired Experience:
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in psychiatry, with a specific focus on child and adolescent populations.
* Experience in NHS hospitals or private psychiatric providers (e.g., Cygnet Healthcare) is preferred.
Salary & Benefits:
* Annual Salary: Competitive remuneration offered in Pounds (£ - Britain).
* Work Mode: Full-time position of 37.5 hours a week, with an on-call rota.
* Flexibility with possible 2 days of remote work depending on the role.
