Medical Administrator / Receptionist – Neasham Road Surgery, Darlington
Full Time (37.5 hrs) / Job Share (2 x 18.5 hrs) / Part‑Time (1 x 15 hrs and 1 x 22.5 hrs)
We are looking for a motivated, friendly and proactive administrator / receptionist to join our supportive reception team. As the first point of contact, you will deliver the high standards of care and service that Neasham Road Surgery is known for. You must be flexible, reliable and self‑motivated.

Responsibilities
* Receive patients and provide a friendly first impression.
* Handle telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries, book appointments and arrange tests.
* Manage prescription enquiries and repeat prescription processing.
* Operate the SystmOne clinical system and general IT applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Carry out general reception duties: filing, faxing, photocopying, distributing documents, clearing messages, and maintaining the reception area.
* Support the Prescription Line and data entry for patient registrations and record changes.
* Ensure efficient use of telephone systems and courteous service during and after hours.
* Maintain high quality reception and administration service to patients, doctors, colleagues and visitors.
* Collaborate with GPs, nurses, management and external partners (e.g., pharmacists, allied health professionals).
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 2 or above in Customer Service or Business Administration.
* Computer certificate and 3 x GCSE grade C or above.
* Experience working with the general public, preferably in a primary health environment.
* Strong IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and preferably the SystmOne system.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to multi‑task, work compassionately and maintain confidentiality.

Salary & Working Pattern
