Security Officer – Retail and Leisure Outlet
Full Time – Permanent | Average 38 hours per week
Pay Rate: £13.95 per hour
Summary & Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a professional, proactive, and customer-focused Security Officer to join our dedicated team at a prestigious retail outlet. In this high-profile position, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and wellbeing of all staff, visitors, and brand partners. Working alongside experienced security professionals, you will uphold the highest standards of service, protection, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Security Officer, you will support the safe and smooth operation of the Centre through tasks including:
1. Conducting regular patrols and continuous monitoring to protect people, assets, and property, following Assignment Instructions and all Health & Safety procedures.
2. Acting as an ambassador for the outlet—delivering a welcoming, professional presence and assisting visitors, staff, and brand partners.
3. Leading or supporting responses to incidents, emergencies, and evacuations, ensuring procedures are followed swiftly and correctly.
4. Working closely with fellow team members to maintain a united, effective approach, especially during busy or high-pressure situations.
5. Identifying and reporting suspicious activity, taking proactive measures to prevent theft, damage, or breaches.
6. Ensuring safety throughout evening operations and contributing to the smooth management of the night-time economy.
7. Overseeing vehicle movements within the Centre to prevent congestion and maintain a safe environment.
8. Remaining alert to signs of fire, flooding, or other hazards, and taking prompt action where required.
Skills & Experience Required
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with clarity and professionalism.
10. Strong customer service background, with the ability to stay calm, confident, and approachable.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
13. Composure under pressure and sound judgment in challenging situations.
14. High attention to detail, proactive attitude, and strong time-management skills.
15. 5-year checkable work history.
