JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Engineer for a short-term contract of approximately 4-6 weeks, on a PSC basis working outside IR35. Experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry is essential.
Responsibilities
* Contributing to the delivery of engineering excellence through:
* Executing assigned scopes of work
* Supporting and supervising task delegation to the team
* Providing discipline expertise to the business
* Coaching and mentoring as delegated
* Managing and supervising direct reports
* Adhering to and complying with relevant discipline-specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement
* Participating in audits and incident investigations as required
* Maintaining technical competence in own discipline and pursuing continuous professional development
* Providing discipline support to the business
* Checking and approving piping design and engineering documentation
* Approving PED technical files
* Utilizing BP standards for pipework design and procurement
* Selecting piping materials for specific applications
* Specifying piping materials, manual valves, pipe fittings, and flanges
* Completing technical evaluations on piping materials and fittings
* Reviewing and approving vendor documentation and certification
* Reviewing PDMS/E3D models for piping, plant layout, and clash checking
* Reviewing dimensional control and cloud scan survey data for clash checking
* Providing technical expertise

Qualifications
* MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification, or BSc, BEng with extensive relevant experience
* Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent
* Competent in own discipline to support the business
* Knowledge of industry and technology developments within the discipline
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills
* Experience participating in audits and incident investigations
