Job overview
Would you like to join our team of Nurse Practitioners (NP) working at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Minor Injuries unit based at our VCH site.
We are seeking clinically astute, motivated, enthusiastic Nurse Practitioners to join our well established, experienced and friendly team. This is a valuable opportunity for Nurse Practitioners to work in an established but ever evolving service in which they will further develop and practice their nursing, clinical and leadership skills and contribute to its development.
You will be working within a caring, compassionate team who truly put the patients at the forefront of everything they do. You will also be part of a ground breaking new way of working between primary and community care providers, working towards removing boundaries between these services.
Main duties of the job
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidence based nursing & clinical care
To provide expert advice and clinical practice.
To participate in the education and development of self and other staff
To work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and quality of care delivered.
To autonomously assess, diagnose and treat children and adults who attend the Walk-in Centre with undifferentiated, undiagnosed conditions

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will ideally have experience within a Minor Injuries Unit / A and E department or Walk in Centre/GP surgery and/or urgent care setting and your high standards of patient care will naturally inspire those with whom you work.

Qualifications and professional training
Essential criteria
1. Current registration with NMC
2. First Level Nurse
3. Clinical Exam Qualification
4. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development, relevant to MIU/WIC competencies
5. Evidence of Post Registration Development at Degree Level
Desirable criteria
6. Intermediate Cardiac Life Support
7. Non Medical Prescribing
8. Practitioner Qualification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
9. Minimum of 5 years post registration
10. Recent experience of autonomous clinical decison making
11. Understanding of Clinical Governance
12. Experience in a triage, accident and emergency, minor injuries, a nurse led primary care setting or another specialist area directly relevant to MIU presentations
Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria
13. Knowledge of Professional and NHS issues, quality and change in the clinical setting
14. Clinically credible and competent
15. Experience of undertaking clinical procedures relevant to WIC/MIU wound management, use of early warning scores, plastering
16. Evidence of working a multi-disciplinary team
17. Good Communication Literate
18. Ability to work autonomously
