As the business grows, there is a requirement to strengthen in-house financial leadership, improve the quality and timeliness of financial information, and support data-driven decision-making.
Role Purpose
To take ownership of the end-to-end finance function for two entities, transitioning from a largely outsourced accounting model to a robust, high-quality internal finance capability that supports growth and commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Report directly to the leadership team
2. Own internal accounting processes end-to-end for two entities
3. Produce and present monthly management accounts with commercial insight
4. Lead month-end close, including P&L review
5. Forecasting, budgeting, and ongoing budget performance review
6. VAT preparation and submission
7. Intercompany accounting
8. Work-in-progress management
9. Review business performance and identify variances
10. Streamline and integrate finance processes from invoicing through to month end
11. Liaise with external accountants and manage year-end close
12. Ensure statutory compliance, Companies House filings, and regulatory requirements
13. Operate across Xero, project management systems, and Excel
14. Financial year: January to December
Candidate Profile
15. Strong SME accounting background with experience supporting growing businesses
16. Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
17. Ideally ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified
18. Proven experience at a similar level
19. Confident communicator, able to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
20. Advanced systems and data capability
21. Telecoms or built-environment experience preferred but not essential
Package
22. Salary dependent on experience
23. 40 hours per week with flexible start/finish times
24. 4% matched pension contribution
25. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with a Christmas closure period)
