Overview
We are looking for a passionate, diligent and relational person to join our staff team as our new Children’s Coordinator. The post-holder will spearhead all our work with under 11's, working closely with our existing volunteer teams who serve in this area. Investing in the next generation is an absolute priority for us, and this is a key role that will help us to continue to encourage all that God is doing in and through the youngest members of our community.

Post-holder: Children’s Coordinator
Line Manager: Team Leader or Operations Lead
Salary: Tier 1 - £24,500 - £29,000 (pro-rata) Dependent on experience and final role configuration
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-time (0.4 FTE / 15 hours - open to discussion)
Regular Hours: Between Mon-Fri, fixed by arrangement. Must include Wednesday mornings. Time in lieu available for any work outside regular hours including Sunday ‘lead practitioner’ work agreed with Line Manager.
Location: Church office, unless hybrid working agreed with line manager
Annual Leave Allowance: 25 days per year plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
Role Scope: All ministries to do with Under-11s (up to end of school Year 5)
Role Description: The Children’s Coordinator ensures that our primary school and early years children are being cared for, invested in and discipled as followers of Jesus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning and resourcing Sunday sessions
* Recruiting weekly teams and leaders for all our u-11s groups
* Administration, communication and management of team rotas
* Ensuring u11 team members receive relevant, ongoing training
* Part of Safeguarding Team for Under 18s (Or Designated Safeguarding Lead, depending on experience)
* Ongoing communications to parents and engaging them in children’s discipleship
* Coordinate relevant additional activities - e.g. Busy Bees, Parent workshops
* In addition, any other reasonable tasks that may be requested by your line manager or as required by the needs of the organisation.
Key Requirements and Skills:
* Committed Christian who loves God and loves people
* One who leads by example in outworking the vision and values of Vinelife church
* Able to connect with and communicate in a relevant way with children
* Able to design a discipleship strategy for our children
* Experience working with children in a church setting
* Able to motivate and include others
* Able to work in a team and coordinate responsibilities
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Well organised
* Works well in a team
* Competent IT and Digital skills, with a willingness to learn
* Experience of safeguarding policies and procedures
* Open to feedback as part of a healthy learning environment that is committed to growth
*Under the 2010 Equality Act, schedule 9, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian.
Performance is effective when:
* Children are being invested in and given opportunities to encounter God, grow in their faith, and minister to others.
* Sunday gatherings feature excellent Early Years (EY) and Game Changers (GC) provision, which is owned, shaped and implemented by volunteer teams.
* EY & GC teams have access to relevant curriculum and resources
* EY & GC teams feel trained and equipped, with an ongoing culture of development.
* Parents, carers and guardians feel supported and engaged in the spiritual development of their children
* Volunteers and parents feel well-communicated with.
* Safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to stringently, and any activity relating to safeguarding is diligently recorded in a timely manner.
* Church gatherings that include children feel safe.
* Pathways are created to help the transitions between groups
* U11’s ministry is well connected and integrated with the wider church.
* Game Changers or Early Years team
* Supporting dedications and any relevant baptisms
