The Role:
As a Site Compliance Officer, you'll be at the heart of ensuring Sizewell C meets its regulatory and environmental obligations. You'll work closely with managers, contractors, and consultants to audit compliance with the standards of the Nuclear Site Licence, planning permissions, and environmental consents.
This is a hands-on role combining on-the-ground inspections, compliance assessments, and stakeholder engagement. You'll be a trusted advisor, a mentor, and a key player in fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your work will directly support the safe, lawful, and efficient delivery of this nationally significant infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess activities on the Sizewell C site for compliance with regulatory, environmental, and planning obligations, supporting performance improvements.
* Conduct regular site inspections of construction and operational activities; document findings, escalate issues, and support corrective actions.
* Produce monthly dashboards highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
* Work with managers to clarify compliance responsibilities and refine practical, effective compliance arrangements.
* Contribute to creating clear, robust compliance documentation aligned with regulatory expectations.
* Facilitate communication with internal teams and external partners; deliver targeted briefings on compliance issues.
* Review contractor plans and documentation to ensure alignment with compliance frameworks; represent the compliance team in third-party evaluations.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in auditing standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, ideally within a construction environment. Key attributes include:
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all project levels.
* Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
* A collaborative mindset, contributing positively to team dynamics and project success.
* Proven ability to support multiple stakeholders, with a proactive approach to workload management.
* Confidence in handling complex enquiries and solving challenges independently.
* High discretion and confidentiality, especially with sensitive information.
* Flexibility and ability to multitask and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in data collection and tracking key performance indicators or compliance activities.
Contract & Benefits
Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: £50,000-£65,000 per annum plus benefits.
* Annual Leave: 28 days, increasing to 30 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays.
* Bonus: Up to 5% annual bonus.

* Pension: Defined Contribution Scheme with up to 7.5% employee and 15% employer contributions.
