Job Opportunity – Senior Income Management Officer – Income Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Income Management Officer within the Income team. We are passionate about providing excellent customer service to Dudley MBC customers and delivering high performance, with ongoing reductions in rent arrears collection rates despite challenging financial times. This role involves maximising income, debt recovery, and providing support, advice, information, and guidance to help customers avoid financial difficulties. The post holder will also handle key tasks such as Court work, complex cases, Use & Occupation accounts, Former Tenancy Arrears, Projects, Prisoners, and Deceased accounts.
Key requirements:
1. Contribute to and develop practical rent recovery processes.
2. Manage staff as required to promote efficient service operation.
3. Undertake research and support policy development and service improvements.
4. Have strong financial literacy and understanding of income management processes.
5. Work effectively with residents, including those facing financial difficulties.
6. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Have knowledge of welfare benefits systems and relevant legislation.
8. Develop systems, processes, and procedures to maximise income and efficiency.
9. Produce statistical data and performance reports to promote effective management.
10. Represent Dudley council in court for possession proceedings.
11. Plan, monitor, and report on service improvement projects, highlighting risks and issues.
12. Experience with NEC housing system, able to interpret and train others on software developments.
13. Conduct home visits to engage customers and resolve outstanding debt.
14. Respond to enquiries from internal and external customers via various channels.
15. Work flexibly, including outside normal hours, to meet service needs.
16. Support safeguarding procedures to ensure customer safety and well-being.
