The Role
Swansea City Football Club are looking for a Head of Sales to attract and drive new commercial partners to the club.
Job Summary
* To deliver revenue across core commercial department and new income streams, to deliver commercial success against club objectives.
* To lead departmental management-level staff across partnerships and hospitality to deliver against commercial income targets and KPIs.
* To lead on department-wide sales activity, playing a leading role in the revenue generation across core income streams (partnerships, hospitality, ticketing, retail, events, F+B/C+E) working in collaboration with the Head of Marketing.
Role & Responsibilities
* Partnership Sales – Attract new commercial partners to the club through successful research, outreach and negotiation. Provide an extensive handover to the Partnerships Managers, ensuring expectations are exceeded and incremental income secured.
* Advertising Sales – Lead the partnerships team in the creation and sale of; LED perimeter advertising, static advertising, digital advertising and other partnership rights.
* Hospitality Sales – Deliver additional commercial income via new hospitality sales, cross-selling and up-selling of season ticket holders.
* Staff, Budget and Strategy Management – Line management of the Head of Partnerships and Head of Hospitality, and the management of departmental budgets and strategies.
* Women’s Football Revenue – Responsible for delivering income via partnerships, ticketing and other revenue streams relating to our women’s football programme
* Commercial & Stadium Event Sales – Lead on the sales of stadium events and relationship management of related promotional companies to deliver significant non-matchday revenue (concerts, large-scale events, sporting events).
* Creation and Sales of Commercial Inventory – Create new commercial inventory, demonstrating it’s value, and actively taking to market.
* Cross-Department Sales – Work collaboratively with the Head of Marketing to devise weekly/bi-weekly sales tasks and focus across the department, with a focus on cross-selling, up-selling and direct fan engagement.
* Culture Development – Develop a ‘sales first’ culture, relentless in our pursuit of income. Educate and up-skill departmental staff in this area.
