SALARY:
£24,796 per annum FTE / Actual Annual Salary £20,116 per annum + Benefits

JOB OVERVIEW
As they enter an exciting period of growth, the organisation is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Mentor / Student Support Worker to help students thrive both academically and personally.
The Pastoral Mentor / Student Support Worker will play a central role in ensuring young people feel supported and valued within a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Working closely with teachers, Year Heads, and external agencies, the Pastoral Mentor / Student Support Worker will deliver individual mentoring and wellbeing support, promoting safeguarding and early intervention.
DUTIES
Your responsibilities as the Pastoral Mentor / Student Support Worker will include:
Student Support:
You will act as a key point of contact for students, providing individualised support and guidance on a range of personal, social and emotional issues
Mentoring:
You will develop positive relationships with students, offering one-to-one mentoring and building their confidence and self-esteem
Monitoring and Early Intervention:
You will work with the Pastoral Team to identify students who may be facing challenges and implement early intervention strategies
Collaboration:
You will liaise closely with Year Heads, teachers, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to student support
Personal Development:
You will track student progress and maintain confidential records, contributing to the development of personalised support plans
Community Building:
You will contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment where all students feel valued and supported
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Genuine interest in the welfare and development of young people
Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills
Empathetic, patient and approachable with a positive outlook
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain confidentiality
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
Previous experience in a pastoral, mentoring or youth support role is desirable
