Main duties of the job
We require a Receptionist / Administrator to join our team to provide and maintain high standards of patients care as well as reception and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a dedicated team, with the added satisfaction of working for an organisation committed to the care and wellbeing of others.
Previous experience working in the NHS is desirable although not essential. Excellent interpersonal skills, good IT skills, excellent telephone manner and good communication skills are essential to the role. The candidate will need to have a flexible working approach and have the ability to work with a wide range of professionals, patients, colleagues and outside agencies.
About us
We are a well-established two GP Partner practice, delivering a wide range of services to our 6500 patients with the support of a Locum GP, Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistant and our Admin / Reception teams. South King Street is also part of a strong Primary Care Network (PCN) comprising of 3 practices in the neighbourhood, called Blackpool Central West Primary Care Network.

JOB TITLE: RECEPTIONIST -ADMINISTRATOR
REPORTS TO: Management Team
Shift Pattern
Wednesday: 11:00 am - 18:30 pm (30 minutes Lunch)
Job Summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients inaccessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the Practiceteam and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors,either in person or via the telephone.
Job Responsibilities:
Reception:
* Signpostingpatients and consulting with members of the Practice team
* Making patientappointments or answering patient queries face-to-face
* Handingcompleted repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
* Be able to coverall reception positions as necessary
* Processappointment requests for future appointments from patients by telephoneand in person
* Deal with visitrequests
* To taketelephone calls from patients about appointments and queries
* Accept testsamples from patients and deal with accordingly
* Advise patientsof relevant charges for private work (Non-General Medical Services),accept payment and issue receipts for same
* maintain patientconfidentiality at all times
* Provision of refreshments for staff andvisitors as required; setting up for meetings, participate in washingdishes and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
* Keeping the reception area, notice-boards andleaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
Openup premises at the start of the day when first to arrive, de-activate alarm andmake all necessary preparations to receive patients
Whenlast to leave, at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totallysecured, internal lights are off and the alarm activated
Administration:
* To have athorough knowledge of all Practice procedures

* Check andrestock clinical rooms with stationery stock on a regular basis
