Job description
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time), 2 days per week or 15 hours per week. Please note that this is a job share with Education Administrator. Based at the Apricot Centre, with some remote work and occasional travel for events and school visits
Location: Apricot Centre CIC, Huxhams Cross Farm, Dartington, Totnes, TQ9 6AA (Hybrid working options available, with weekly visits to the office as a minimum.)

Salary: £24,570 pro rata
Role Overview: As a part-time Education Administrator (Assistant) within our Education Team, you will provide vital support to ensure the smooth running of our educational programmes, events, and outreach activities. Working two days per week, you will assist with administrative tasks for accredited courses, help coordinate school visits, book talks, and other educational events, and support the efficient operation of our team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Education & Course Administration
* Provide administrative support to the School of Regenerative Land-Based Studies and the Apricot Centre education team, with occasional cover for general support tasks such as health and safety or safer recruitment.
* Assist with student enrolment, record keeping, and course support for accredited programmes.
* Maintain online and paper-based systems to track student participation, attendance, and evaluations.
* Support the preparation of reports for monitoring, evaluation, and funding purposes.
Event & Outreach Coordination
* Assist with organising and coordinating educational events, including school visits, workshops, book talks, and community sessions.
* Liaise with schools, venues, and partners to support logistics, confirm schedules, and prepare materials.
* Support the smooth running of public events through booking management, promotion, and on-the-day coordination.
Administrative & Creative Support
* Maintain team calendars, organise meetings, and support communications.
* Help prepare and update course and event materials using tools such as Canva or other design platforms.
* Assist with website updates and social media content related to education and outreach.
* Carry out general administrative duties including filing, posting, photocopying, data entry, and responding to enquiries.
Compliance & Quality
* Ensure records are kept securely and in line with the Data Protection Act
* Assist with compliance and preparation for OFSTED inspections.
* Support a safe, well-organised, and professional educational environment.
Team Support & Development
* Work collaboratively with education staff to streamline processes and support new initiatives.
* Contribute ideas for the development and promotion of educational programmes and community engagement activities.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven administrative experience, ideally within an educational setting.
* Familiarity with Google Workspace, or similar.
* Ability to work independently, and as part of a collaborative team, and manage time effectively.
* An organised individual with the ability to prioritise workload. This role does involve processing a lot of emails.
* An individual who can use their own initiative to support colleagues where required.
* A strong commitment to the values and mission of the Apricot Centre.
Desirable:
* Knowledge and understanding of accredited courses and the education sector is highly desirable.
* Experience working in or with CIC's, social enterprises, charities, or community-focused organisations.
* Experience with website management and content updates (familiarity with Square space and similar platforms preferred).
