Junior CAD & CAFM Support Specialist
Location: Broughton, UK
Hybrid Role - On‑site 3 days/week, Remote 2 days/week
Reporting to: Space Management Team
Role Overview
As a Junior CAD & CAFM Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining the digital and physical integrity of the client’s Broughton site. Working directly within the Space Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring our site layouts are accurate, our space data is current, and our facilities management systems are optimized to support a world‑class manufacturing environment.
This is a hybrid role, offering a balance of three days on‑site for hands‑on surveying and team collaboration, with two days of remote work focused on technical drawing and data management.
Key Responsibilities
* CAD Management: Update and maintain master architectural floor plans using AutoCAD, ensuring all modifications to the site are reflected in the global database.
* CAFM Administration: Act as a key user for the Computer‑Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system, linking CAD polylines to database records to track departmental space allocation and occupancy.
* Test Fit Drawings: Produce “test fit” layouts and feasibility studies to help stakeholders visualize how teams or equipment can be integrated into existing spaces.
* On‑site Surveying: Conduct physical site walkthroughs and surveys to verify that “as‑built” conditions match our digital records, identifying discrepancies in partitions, furniture, or utility points.
* Drawing Management: Organize and archive technical documentation, ensuring version control is maintained across all site projects.
* Stakeholder Support: Assist the Space Management team in generating reports on space utilization and capacity planning for departmental heads.
Technical Requirements
* Essential AutoCAD Skills: A strong, demonstrable background in AutoCAD is mandatory. Proficiency in layering, XRefs, blocks, and scaling.
* CAFM Knowledge: Previous experience working within a CAFM‑based system (such as Archibus, Tririga, etc.) is highly desirable.
* Surveying Ability: Comfortable using laser measures and traditional surveying techniques to capture site data accurately.
* Design Accuracy: A keen eye for detail with the ability to translate complex physical environments into clean, standardized digital drawings.
Personal Attributes
* Adaptability: Comfortable moving between a high‑tech office environment and a busy manufacturing shop floor.
* Communication: Ability to explain technical drawing constraints to non‑technical stakeholders.
* Organization: Strong time‑management skills to handle multiple drawing requests simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.
Work Pattern
Monday – Friday: 3 days on‑site (Broughton), 2 days remote.
Note: On‑site days may shift based on surveying requirements and team meetings.
