Role Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Facilities & Projects Leader, you will manage and support maintenance projects across the Telford site. The role combines hands-on mechanical and electrical work with project and contractor management responsibilities. You will lead projects from planning through to completion, ensuring safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure adherence to HSE policies and manage contractor safety (RAMS/permits).
* Lead and deliver projects on time, in budget, and to specification.
* Support cross-functional teams to ensure right-first-time project delivery.
* Use project management tools to monitor and report progress.
* Contribute to plant improvement initiatives and capex projects.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Mechanical/electrical engineering background (apprentice or HNC).
* Project management and contractor control experience.
* Hands-on installation and fabrication expertise.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
* Experience in tier 1 automotive supply.
* Experience with die casting machines, furnaces, hydraulic presses, conveyors, assembly cells, ABB robots, Siemens PLCs, CNCs.
Summary:
This is a permanent, day-shift role offering a £43,000 salary. The Maintenance Project Engineer will combine hands-on engineering expertise with project and contractor management to deliver high-quality, cost-effective projects on time, ensuring safety and continuous improvement across the Telford site
