Responsibilities
We have 2 positions available for a Quality Inspector role at a Global based manufacturing company in Kenfig Industrial Estate near Port Talbot.
1 x Permanent role
1 x Maternity cover with possible temp to perm - role will last at least until February 2026
The roles will require the individual to work as part of a smaller team and will report directly into the Quality manager. The roles will require the individual to work within the quality department and be responsible for assuring the quality of products produced on site. This will be carried out through adherence to QMS checks, measurements, sampling & inspection of products whilst following up and dispositioning any defective product.
The successful candidates will be required to work closely with other departments and the position will involve a combination of team working as well as working on your own initiative. There will be a need to communicate at all levels and a degree of flexibility will be essential to maintain the efficient operation of the plant. The individual should be confident to work on their own with little supervision.
The roles will require the individuals to measure production samples throughout the shift for a variety of properties using gauges and measuring devices to confirm product quality. The individual must be capable at data entry and analysis, the majority of which will be through Microsoft excel & Word, a high level of competency using these packages is essential.
Initial wage rate - £12.56 ph ( Equivelent to £27,499 per annum). Further training levels available and renumeration to follow.
Own transport is required as site is not near any major transport links.
Average 42.1hrs per week - 12 hr shifts - rotational 2 days/2 nights, 4 off basis
Must have the right to work in UK
1. Previous quality assistant/inspector experience
2. Support internal audit schedule in preparation for hygiene, BRC & ISO audits
3. Promote and participate in activities that ensure the highest safety, operational, hygiene and quality standards are achieved
4. Good communication skills to work well within a close knit department and in a busy, dynamic manufacturing environment
Qualifications
5. Experience in a manufacturing based environment
6. Self-motivated, reliable, thorough, logical, conscientious and flexible
7. Effective communication skills (written and oral) will be essential with a good understanding of people management and interaction with various department
8. Proficient at using Microsoft packages – predominantly Excel & Word
