Principal Consultant – Natural Capital
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)

Are you a sustainability professional who thrives at the intersection of environmental science and strategic business development? We’re seeking a Principal Natural Capital Consultant to lead and grow a high-impact service offering focused on protecting and enhancing the value of nature.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in defining and expanding Natural Capital services, delivering innovative, commercially successful solutions that help organisations respond to climate, biodiversity, and regulatory pressures. If you’re passionate about driving environmental change and possess both technical depth and commercial acumen, this is your opportunity to make a real difference.
What You’ll Do:
* Act as the subject matter expert for Natural Capital across client engagements and internal strategy
* Shape and execute a clear go-to-market strategy to grow service lines and client base
* Monitor and interpret emerging trends, legislation, and international standards around Natural Capital, ecosystem services, and biodiversity
* Lead business development initiatives, including tender responses, proposals, and participation in major bids
* Develop strong, trusted relationships with clients, providing expert guidance and project delivery aligned with their goals
* Manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure the timely, on-budget delivery of high-quality work
About You:
You are a dynamic and strategic thinker, equally comfortable in a technical deep dive or a boardroom pitch. With a solid foundation in ecology, environmental science, or a related field, you bring both scientific expertise and a sharp understanding of market forces. Your professional network is robust, and you’re recognised for your ability to win new work and deliver value-driven solutions.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong background in natural capital, ecology, or environmental consultancy
* Relevant degree (e.g., environmental science, ecology, sustainability); a postgraduate qualification is advantageous
* Proven commercial and business development track record
* Deep knowledge of market drivers, frameworks, and policies shaping the Natural Capital agenda
* Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
