THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this role, the successful candidate is required to have the following, but not limited to:
Required in order to be shortlisted:
* This role requires the successful candidate to hold a Chief Engineer’s Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Unlimited)
* You will have sailed onboard a tanker vessel in the capacity of Chief Engineer, 1st Assistant Engineer, or Assistant Chief Engineer
* You must have experience with ME-C, ME-B, or ME-GI diesel engine types
* Sound knowledge of inspection routines, vessel maintenance, and compliance with Class/statutory requirements is essential
* Fluency in written and spoken English is required in order to liaise with crew onboard as well as internal technical and management teams
Additional skills which will be an advantage:
* Familiarity with technical project support including dry docking, retrofitting, or M&R
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of vessel management systems
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
* Providing technical assistance to assigned tanker vessels under supervision of a Senior Engineer Superintendent or Fleet Manager
* Monitoring vessel condition, maintenance schedules, and performance standards
* Supporting Class and Flag survey arrangements and documentation
* Managing service orders and spare part requisitions in line with budget controls
* Contributing to long-term projects including upgrades and regulatory compliance (e.g., EU ETS, MRV)
* Assisting with preparation of dry docking schedules and attending repair periods as required
* Collaborating with crewing personnel and internal departments to ensure smooth vessel operations
* Participating in accident/incident investigations and follow-up reporting
