About the role
As a Junior Chatbot Analyst and Developer, you’ll play a key role in shaping how residents interact with the council online. You’ll design, test, and improve chatbot conversations so that they’re clear, accessible, and genuinely useful.
You’ll work with colleagues in the contact centre, UX and content designers, and wider digital team to translate common enquiries into chatbot interactions, create knowledge base content, and monitor performance using analytics tools. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with conversational AI platforms and automation tools, helping embed chatbots into wider service journeys. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in natural language processing (NLP), conversational design, and digital automation while making a real difference for our residents.
About you
You’ll be curious, collaborative, and eager to learn, with:
1. Experience using or testing chatbots or voice assistants.
2. Ability to design clear conversation flows and explain ideas simply.
3. Strong attention to detail and a user-centred mindset.
It’s a bonus if you’ve built or configured chatbots, know a bit about NLP, APIs or analytics tools, or have worked in agile teams.
