Job Details: This locum position pays £650 per day for face‑to‑face work across three quadrants:
* Mid: Chelmsford and surrounding areas
* West: Harlow and surrounding areas
* South: Basildon and surrounding areas
Role Overview
Essex County Council (ECC) is one of the largest and most dynamic local authorities in the UK, serving a population of 2 million residents. ECC is transforming how it delivers education services across the county to improve outcomes for every child and young person. As an Associate Educational Psychologist you will contribute to this transformation by providing expert psychological input.
Responsibilities
* Write Statutory Psychological Advice as part of Education Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA).
Qualifications
* British Psychological Society (BPS) recognised first degree in psychology.
* Doctorate or Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, and eligibility for chartered status within the BPS.
* HCPC registration essential.
* Recent, relevant in‑service professional development.
* Detailed understanding and awareness of relevant SEN legislation.
* Experience working with children and young people with SEN/Disability; detailed knowledge of research‑informed interventions and approaches that prevent and meet SEN.

If your role requires a DBS check, you will need to register with the DBS update service and maintain the subscription annually.
